“40 Years in the North Cascades” (Jill Pelto, 2023)

Glacier Walker

“Glacier Walker” is the lead single from my upcoming third LP. You get to hear it first! It’ll be available to stream on January 14. This song was written after I visited Iceland and saw climate change’s effect on the melting of the glaciers there. The artwork for the single features a painting by Jill Pelto called "40 Years in the North Cascades" which illustrates the rate of snowfall gain versus melt from 1984 - 2022. You can read more about the inspiration for the piece here, as well as about the work of the North Cascade Glacier Climate Project here.
